Herbs add essence to any dish whether it is cooked or a salad and when it is used fresh from your indoor garden it is all the more tasty. An indoor herb garden will also provide you with color and scent like no other every single day, which will turn your cooking and the kitchen (if that is where you place the herb garden) into gourmet chef’s premises.
Maintaining an indoor herb garden is not hard and you can grow almost any type of herb you have in mind if you watch the temperature, light and water. Here are some tips that will help you with watering indoor herb garden so you can always enjoy fresh herbs irrelevant of the season and time of the year.

A Few Essentials

First and foremost you must take in consideration the size of the pots in which you are growing your herbs, usually there are two choice and they are: a larger pot where you can grow a variety of herbs together or individual pots of approximately 6 to 12 inches deep. Both choices are great depending on what you have available but it will make a huge difference on watering indoor herb garden. The size of the pot will help you decide how much watering indoor herb garden needs and how often; pots retain water as they only have so much space to drain and over watering is a common mistake therefore check the soil with your fingers first before adding any more water and then decide how much water your herbs need. Most herbs require the same amount of water with rare exceptions therefore try and check when you purchase the herb for gardening and/or read carefully the seeds package and if extra care and watering required place that particular herb in a separate pots.
